Dangelo Cash Clemons, 29, is facing charges related to the alleged kidnapping of a young girl in Detroit, Michigan, who he lived next door to in a duplex, Fox 2 reported. According to the outlet, 5-year-old Maggie Millsap yelled from a window last month for help, causing a nearby neighbor to alert local police. Her father, Corey Milsap, was allegedly found dead in their shared home, with police continuing to investigate the incident.
Detroit’s Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office stated in a press release earlier this month that “it is alleged that Defendant Clemons abducted the child from her home and fled to the residence next door.”
He has since been charged with both kidnapping and child enticement.

According to Fox 2, neighbor Raynell Jones, who has also babysat for Maggie in the past, called 911 after hearing the cries for help from the young girl, saying to the outlet, “She goes, ‘Help me, help me please,” adding, “When the guy walks back up she says, ‘The monster is back,’ and then she closes the curtain.”
Police believe that Clemons held Maggie captive for days before the discovery, Fox 2 reported. The rescued Detroit girl now lives in foster care.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office commented about the charges Clemons now faces in a press release, saying, “All allegations like these that confirm why we all do this challenging work. We must protect our children by all lawful means necessary.”
Clemons’ bond was listed as $250,000 following his arraignment on July 3. No word on when the Michigan man is next due in court.
