Michael Oher, the retired NFL player who inspired the Oscar-nominated film The Blind Side, married his longtime girlfriend and children’s mother, Tiffany Roy, on November 5.
The 36-year-old former football player wed Roy at the JW Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee.
Oher expressed his love to his bride and thanked attendees for sharing their special day.
“Filled with joy, can’t believe people took their time and came to celebrate! My beautiful wife, I love you so much. Thank you for blessing me with our family! Easily the best single weekend I’ve ever been a part of. Not being from the area everyone came to was even more special. I won’t be able to tell everyone; thank you. If I saw you this weekend, thank you! I’m complete. Let’s keep trending upward!”

According to People Magazine, the newlyweds have four children. Son Kobi walked his mother down the aisle as Queen Bey’s “Halo” played. Oher and Roy also have two daughters, Naivi and Kierstin, and another son, MJ.
“The most magical part was our vows,” Roy told the publication. “To hear Mike express his feelings in front of 200-plus people was astonishing and romantic. I really felt like a true Queen. For a few seconds, my mind was cloudy. Everything was moving so fast that I could not hear or focus on my own thoughts.”
The joyful bride continued, “Until I felt my dress get caught on my shoe, which prevented me from walking. That’s when everything became clear. I heard my son ask me, “Are you ready?’ and I said ‘Of course I am. I’ve been waiting a long time for this magical day.’ It was filled with so much joy, excitement, and happiness.”
Wedding planner and designer Tiffanie Elliott shared that the couple had been together for almost two decades. Elliott also transformed the Marriott ballroom into a sea of white and blue with extravagant flower arrangements and crystals.
“Tiffany and Michael, 36, have been together for 17 years, so she wanted the guests to be met with an experience that was ‘worth the wait,'” the wedding planner explained.
Roy, a New Orleans native, added a tribute to her hometown during the reception. The couple got busy as a second-line band got down on the dancefloor.
The blushing bride reflected on what having Oher’s love had meant to her.
“He is charming, loving, kind, funny, handsome, a great listener, a great cook, and an amazing father to our kids,” she said. “Michael has a glow in his eyes when he looks at me. He puts me first no matter what he has on his schedule for the day. He makes sure his family is taken care of. I love his love for his family and our kids.”
The Blind Side tells the heartbreaking story of Oher’s childhood and subsequent adoption by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy. It starred Quinton Aaron, Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.
We wish them the best!
