Battle was charged with the felony murders of her 2 and 3-year-old daughters. She was detained at Duke Raleigh Hospital on Saturday night after the police were called to the location. Three-year-old Amora Lou Milbourne and her 2-year-old sister, Trinity Michelle Milbourne, were reportedly left in a hot vehicle, according to their father. Battle’s cousin claimed it was an accident.Â
The woman’s family continues to support her. A cousin, Keisha Harris, said the Battle was a “caring and loving mother.”
“She was always there. She’s a caring and loving mother to her kids at the end of the day. She’s not a cold-blooded murderer. She’s not a killer. She was just a young girlâ may have been experiencing depression or whatever the case may be. She just made a bad decision. At the end of the day, she was a good mother to those girls.”
Lisacious Williams, another cousin, said the family was devastated by the loss.
“We love Launice no matter what, and we will support her no matter what. This was a careless mistake.”
The Cary, North Carolina, woman was denied bond, and her plea hasnât been determined. She also has a 6-year-old son.
