Actor, comedian, and TV host David Spade recently donated $5,000 to viral Burger King employee Kevin Ford. The latter received an underwhelming goodie bag from the fast food chain for his 27 years of service.
David reportedly made the thoughtful donation before sending Kevin a direct message on Instagram to confirm it was him. He sent the money through a GoFundMe account that the fast food worker’s daughter Seryna previously created for him on June 21.
“Keep up the good work 27 years [explosion emoji],” the comedian wrote in Kevin’s inbox.
“Holy s**t, dude!!! [head exploding emojis]. Cannot believe this!!! Thank you so much…for even watching the video! I love you, my brother!!! Much love and God bless…LLP. [Thinking emoji] I think [I] might be able to take the day off!” the Las Vegas man replied.
David then wrote, “Wait till year 30 [laughing emoji].”
To that sentiment, Kevin responded, “Damn are you one of my managers??? [thinking and laughing emojis]. Thank you again, sir, [you’re] the best. Have a great day [thumbs up emoji].”
Kevin has reportedly been a cook and cashier at the Burger King in the Las Vegas McCarren International Airport and had perfect attendance for 27 years straight. As a “thank you” for his hard work, Burger King’s parent company awarded him a gift bag with small goodies, including a Starbucks cup, one movie ticket, packs of candy, and other random items in a plastic backpack.

After a video of him opening his gift bag went viral on social media, Seryna launched the GoFundMe, in which she surpassed her $175,000 goal and raised over $200,000, including David’s donation.
Kevin said the money would assist him in visiting his daughters and grandchildren in Texas and that it would also fund a new Ford hybrid.
In addition to receiving donations, he has also reportedly received job offers from around the country, including a company that restores classic cars and a beachside restaurant in South Carolina. However, he plans to stick with what he knows best at Burger King.
