55-Year-Old Florida Man Accused of Grooming His Goddaughter Then Marrying Her When She Turned 18

A 55-year-old Florida man is catching hell all over Beyoncé’s internet after being accused of grooming his young bride.

Mike Haugabook of Ft. Pierce, and his 18-year-old wife, Deja, became the subjects of intense scrutiny after a photo of their wedding surfaced online. Haugabook allegedly dated  Deja’s mother, Davina Evans, before marrying her and was the younger woman’s godfather. An alleged arrest record showed the man’s age as in his 50s.

According to Haugabook’s alleged Facebook page, the couple was married

on Sept. 8– after a short engagement (Aug. 27).

Older social media posts of Haugabook revealed that he had once searched for Deja when she went missing in 2017, and Davina thanked him, saying, “love you, babes,” and referred to him as “godfather.”

“Actions for the community help if anybody see my goddaughter, please contact me or her mother. She’s 14-years-old, and she need to be found fast time. Time is of the essence. Thank you very much,” he wrote.

On Oct. 16, Haugabook posted a Facebook post claiming that women were envious of their marriage and that he wasn’t the first man to marry a younger woman (in his case, a child). Family members grossly rallied around him.

Deja posted a video and told the public that people didn’t understand what she had gone through and that she was living her life with her husband. Deja also revealed that she preferred an older man over a younger man because of maturity. The young bride’s video was filled with bravado but also reeked of pain. She also claimed Haugabook was 46 and not 55 (an online post of the photo of the alleged marriage certificate indicated he is 55.)

On Wednesday, an expletive-laden video surfaced of Davina responding to the controversial marriage. She claimed that the Ft. Pierce native was unfaithful and had given Deja a sexually transmitted disease and that she couldn’t believe her daughter would betray her.

Haugabook allegedly clapped back at Davina’s video and it was as creepy as her accusations against her former lover.

He reportedly wrote to Davina that Deja “was a better woman” than she was, and she needed to mind her business in what he thought was a flex.

We hope Deja gets the help she needs. She is indeed the victim in this situation. Unfortunately, every adult in her life let her down.
