35-Year-Old Missouri Woman Charged With Murder After Allegedly Tracking Stolen Hyundai Tucson At A Gas Station

On Thursday, a 35-year-old Missouri woman was taken into police custody after she turned herself in following a shooting that left two men dead and a third injured.

According to the St. Louis Dispatch, Demesha Coleman was charged with two counts of murder, three counts of armed criminal action and one count of assault in St. Louis County.  The 35-year-old Spanish Lake resident had tracked her stolen Hyundai Tucson to a Speedie Gas on Wednesday night. Video footage caught Demesha walking up to and confronting the men inside her vehicle while in the Speedie Gas parking lot.

The 35-year-old woman was with an unnamed man who also had a gun. Surveillance video revealed Demesha opening the front door on the passenger side of the Tucson with her gun drawn. Her accomplice did the same on the driver’s side. Demesha fired shots, and a shootout ensued. Darrius Jackson and Joseph Farrar were shot in the torso and died on the scene. The third man was shot in the head but survived.

Police didn’t reveal if Jackson, 19, an unidentified man and Farrar, 49, were the suspects who jacked the Tucson originally.

St. Louis police said there has been a surge of thefts of Hyundais and KIAs in the city. Agents theorized that a viral TikTok has informed car thieves and car enthusiasts how to steal the South Korean-manufactured cars.
