Louisiana State University’s basketball team has been catching heat on the road to defending their national title.
As reported by the New York Post, the struggles of their season began when their star player Angel Reese was benched on Tuesday’s, November 14, game and two of the big players’ mothers started duking it out on social media.
Reese was sat out by the LSU coach during the second half of the team’s game against Kent State and although they ended up winning 109-79 in the end, at half time their winning margin wasn’t nearly as large.
Kim Mulkey, the LSU coach, explained after the game that it was a “coach’s decision.”
Glenn Guilbeau, an OutKick reporter presiding over LSU athletics department, said that Reese was actually benched to get her an “attitude adjustment.”
While the powerhouse forward was being hounded by speculation surrounding her being benched, Reese’s mother Angel Reese Webb, and Flau’jae Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, started going back and forth at each other on Instagram.
Webb wrote on social media, “Folks pls do not send me long text msgs with a bunch of grammatical errors it gives me a headache. How do I know you said what you said if I can’t understand what you’re saying?”
Although the context surrounding the drama wasn’t completely explained, according to Just Women’s Sports, Brooks quickly responded: “You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA. And in fact when writing your smart message, you didn’t capitalize nor did you use any periods,” she continued. “Stop being petty, fake and hateful, and take responsibility for you and your daughters actions. Your just as responsible you raised her that way. Nobody give a d*** who you think you are since you came up off another’s brand. Just like God gave it to you, he will take it right away. Always stay humble and never forget who made you and where you came from!!”
