An 18-year-old teen got accepted into 39 colleges and earned $3.5M in college scholarships.
Jaden Hunter graduated co-valedictorian from Crenshaw Arts Tech Charter High with an outstanding 4.7 GPA. This earned him acceptance to over three dozen colleges and universities. In addition, Hunter is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation scholarship recipient.
“I got all these letters. Free ride here, full ride here, full ride here and all that type of stuff. I got accepted into my childhood dream school, USC. I didn’t go, it’s too close to home, but I still got accepted there. I accomplished that,” Hunter told ABC7.
Out of all the college offers, Hunter has decided to continue his education at Berkeley to study mechanical engineering.

Hunter also used his genius for entrepreneurship. He founded the clothing brand The Legit Way in hopes of inspiring other people in his community.
“My whole motto is to show the youth that it’s OK to do stuff good, the correct way, the legit way. You don’t have to be in the streets to help your family out. Look at me. I’m going to college, and I’m going to help my family out.”

For the one-year anniversary of the clothing line, Hunter made a special post, writing, “I want to thank GOD for allowing me to come this far on this journey. I started my business one year ago today, and it is still successfully up and running. I spent a lot of late nights/early mornings putting in work to keep it going 💯. I want to thank all of you guys that support me and who are loyal customers.”
Hunter also wants to continue to support and give back to his community in other ways.
“In my community, just all low-income communities, we don’t know what it is to build credit, how to buy a home, how to obtain a loan from the bank, anything of that sort. So I just want to teach the community that and empower my community, elevate them, help us get further than where we were,” Hunter said.
Congratulations, keep up the great work and good luck at Berkeley!
