The Warner Robins Police Department has taken a 13-year-old boy into custody after he allegedly shot his mother to death.
The department posted a news release regarding the shooting death of 37-year-old Navy veteran Dominique Bowers.
On Friday, Warner Robins police were dispatched to the 500 block of Adirondack Way after the teen called 911. Officers arrived at the home and discovered Bowers’ body at around 1:30 p.m.
The emergency dispatcher also informed the officers that the “possible suspect” was at another location. They apprehended the 13-year-old boy at a house in the 300 block of Old Perry Road.
Authorities have not released any details regarding the motive for the shooting or the suspect’s identity.
According to Bowers’ Facebook page, the proud Navy veteran was originally from New York and was engaged since 2019. She also reportedly studied psychology at Roanoke College and was previously employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation. She moved to Georgia in March 2020.
The 13-year-old suspect is being held at the Crisp County Youth Detention Center and appeared in court on Saturday. He has been charged with aggravated assault and murder.
