11-Year-Old Gets Invited To Broadway After Viral Singing Video

11-year-old Nathan Broxton was invited to New York to live out his Broadway dreams.

On January 7,  Samantha Sophia, a social media influencer who shares parenting videos, green living advice, and culture convos, posted a video on her Instagram.  The video shows her 11-year-old son singing along to a song from Matilda The Musical. She captioned the clip, “Let’s just call this Nathan’s audition for Matilda the Musical!”

The video now has 106k views and almost 10,000 likes.

In the days to follow, Nathan’s video continued to gain traction. He received several supportive tweets, including one came from his idol, Leslie Odom Jr.

Sophia shared a video on Instagram with his reaction, writing, “Today has been wild! Nathan is so amazed by and appreciative of Leslie Odom Jr’s acknowledgment and kind words! Here is Nathan’s reaction. (Shared with Nathan’s permission.) Many deep and sincere thanks to @reignofapril for resharing, encouraging, and helping to bring so much joy to our Nathan today!”

Nathan said, “This is amazing, This one tweet means so much to me.”

In a recap of the week following the viral video, Sophia shared another video thanking everyone for their support and highlighting the opportunities the whole family has enjoyed.

She started the video by saying, “We are no stranger to going viral, but this week very specifically Musical theater Twitter and Instagram found Nathan…And there was a series of tweets from some amazing humans.”

“The internet’s hearts were so warmed that Delta Airlines offered to pay to send the entire family to New York City so that Nathan could watch his first musical on Broadway,” she continued.

“I just posted a video last week, and one week later, we are here. Nathan has an agent, and he has auditioned for TV shows,” she revealed.

“We are going to have a red carpet experience courtesy of MJ the musical…the list goes on and on,” she continued.
